Lake Abitibi Boat Club

Description

Covering an area of 931 km², Lake Abitibi stretches 139 km in length and 49 km in width. Straddling the border between Quebec and Ontario, the lake boasts approximately 225 beaches and 898 islands, offering a rich variety of breathtaking landscapes highly appreciated by residents of Abitibi-Ouest.

Established in 1993, Club Nautique Lac Abitibi Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting boating activities on Lake Abitibi and implementing initiatives that enhance safety on the lake and its surrounding rivers.

Each year, the organization installs more than 250 buoys to create a network of navigable routes totaling over 70 km. These marked routes allow for safe passage between public docks, tourist attractions, and the lakeside municipalities of Rapide-Danseur, Gallichan, Roquemaure, Palmarolle, Ste-Hélène-de-Mancebourg, Clerval, La Reine, and La Sarre.

A navigation map of Lake Abitibi is available in both printed and GPS-compatible digital formats. It features over 1,000 km of safely marked boating routes, providing recreational boaters with access to the region’s stunning natural scenery.
