Centre de formation professionnelle du Lac-Abitibi
The Centre de formation professionnelle Lac-Abitibi has a tradition of excellence that puts it among the top vocational training centres. Since 1967, the centre has played a leading role, both academically and economically, in the community. More than a dozen training programs are taught in fields such as mechanics, food services, metalworking and administration.

The Centre de Formation générale le Retour enables students to complete their high school education or obtain the prerequisites for vocational training or college. It also gives the general public a range of educational services, equivalence certificates, social integration services, and more.
Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT)
The UQAT campus in Abitibi-Ouest provides customized support to students. Whether a course is followed in person, by distance learning or customized, the possibilities are numerous. The university also has research infrastructures that makes Abitibi-Ouest a hub for forestry research and for biomaterial design, manufacture and characterization. Depending on demand, UQAT holds part-time undergraduate programs and courses in the arts, management, health and education.
